Staff Care and Resources

Who cares for the people who care for everyone else?

Your pastors, staff, and ministry leaders spend their lives caring for others. But they need care, too.

Deeper Walk partners with churches and ministry organizations to provide spiritual care, support, and formation for the people who carry the weight of ministry.

Care for your team. Care for your church. Form your leaders.

01 - CARE FOR YOUR TEAM

Your staff shouldn't have to carry ministry alone.

Ministry staff are where people turn when something is wrong. But there are things staff members need that are difficult to receive from their own supervisor or pastor.

Deeper Walk provides a trusted place outside the organizational structure where people can slow down, process what's happening in their lives, attend to their relationship with God, and receive ongoing support.

Ways Deeper Walk can care for your team:

Spiritual Direction
Ongoing one-on-one spiritual accompaniment for pastors, staff, and ministry leaders.

Sponsored Spiritual Direction
Your church can provide spiritual direction as part of the care and support you offer your staff.

Grief & Loss Support
Individual or group support for staff navigating significant loss, transition, or grief.

Staff Care
Customized care and support based on the needs of your team.

02 - CARE FOR YOUR CHURCH

You can't personally walk with everyone who needs you.

Pastors often find themselves walking alongside people in their congregation through grief, major life transitions, questions of calling and discernment, spiritual dryness, and seasons of profound change.

Sometimes people need more ongoing accompaniment than a pastor has the capacity to provide.

Ways Deeper Walk can care for your church:

Spiritual Direction
For people seeking deeper attentiveness to God, discernment, or ongoing spiritual accompaniment.

Grief & Loss
Individual support or structured group experiences for people navigating loss.

Pastoral Overflow
A trusted referral option when someone needs ongoing accompaniment beyond the pastor's available capacity.

Life Transitions & Discernment
Space to slow down and prayerfully attend to significant decisions, transitions, and questions of calling.

03 - FORM YOUR LEADERS

Don't wait for your team to burn out before you invest in them.

Healthy leaders tend to lead healthier ministries.

Spiritual formation experiences give your team space to step out of the demands of ministry, slow down, reflect on what God is doing, and grow together.

Ways Deeper Walk can form your leaders:

Staff Retreats
Customized retreats designed around the spiritual and relational needs of your leadership team.

Spiritual Formation Experiences
Guided experiences that help leaders slow down, reflect, pray, and attend to God's presence.

Formation Workshops
Practical and experiential workshops around spiritual health, rhythms, discernment, grief, and the inner life of leadership.

Customized Experiences
Not every team needs the same thing. We can work with you to create something appropriate for your church or organization.

How it works

It’s simple.

  1. Tell me what you’re seeing.

What’s happening with your team or congregation?

  2. We’ll explore what would actually be helpful.

You don’t have to arrive with a solution already figured out.

  3. We’ll create a plan that fits your church.

Sometimes that's one person in spiritual direction. Sometimes it's a retreat. Sometimes it's an ongoing relationship.

About Deeper Walk

I'm Mike Labrum, founder and Executive Director of Deeper Walk. After more than two decades in pastoral ministry, I've experienced firsthand both the privilege and the weight of caring for people.

Deeper Walk grew out of a desire to create space where people could slow down, listen for God, and receive the kind of care that is difficult to find in the normal rhythms of ministry.

Today, I walk alongside pastors, ministry leaders, and individuals through spiritual direction and other forms of spiritual care and formation.
