We don’t usually think of disappointment as a gift, yet it has a way of revealing what we’ve placed too much weight on. I’m learning how often I come to God expecting Him to satisfy desires that were never meant to carry the weight of my joy. And when He refuses, it isn’t cruelty. It’s mercy. Disappointment becomes a quiet invitation to look beneath the surface, to notice what I’m clinging to, and to rediscover the deeper joy only God can give. In that sense, the “no” is not the end of the story. It’s the beginning of freedom.
